Curious or Serious? The Problem with Internet Marketing

Curious or Serious? The Problem with Internet Marketing

Ok, so after 15 years in the marketing business, I have come to some conclusions.

Many people now have high speed internet right? Many people are looking for an opportunity to make money online right?

So why is it so difficult?

The reason that it is so difficult is because it is so easy. Let me explain…

With today’s incredible technology we have the ability to look at a million different things on the internet.

It is extremely easy to surf from one site to another, to go from one opportunity to the other. It is really capitalism at its finest, and the freedom of choice.

The internet is all about empowering people to make choices and have unlimited access to information.

So why is it so difficult to build a “real” business online?

Here is a typical scenario…

Someone is casually surfing the internet and gets “lured in” by a great website that looks like a good opportunity.

They go ahead and join (either for free or a few bucks) and since it is no “skin” off their teeth, they are just not real serious about it. They have no real “investment” in the game.

Hence the problem. I’m sure that you heard that 97% of all mlm’ers fail. This is why.

They just aren’t serious.

What can you do to combat the problem?

Well the first thing is that you need to isolate you from the “rejection” The fact of the matter is that most people will never have any success in MLM. You need to build “systems” that will keep those people from taking up your personal time, effort and energy, so you can focus on the ones that will build your business.

Don’t get emotionally “invested” in one lead or one person. You will need literally thousands of visitors to your websites, and literally hundreds of sign ups to find just a few that will actually do it.

I have built an internet marketing system that attracts interested people, they go through a process (automated) and then once they have completed that process, then I may end up spending some time with them.

This separates the curious from the serious.

We as an industry need to “toughen up” and realize that there is big money to be made on the internet, but that it is going to take persistence, time, work, energy and money.

As always we would love to hear your questions, comments and concerns about anything we write.

Ministry vs Business

Of course the long term success is what we are all looking for.

This brings up another interesting situation that I came across a couple of years ago.

I ran into a man that was selling some sort of drinkable product. I won't mention the name of the company. But he beleived that this product cured cancer. I mean HE really believed it.

I know that what you believe can be very powerul, so i did not dispute him in his belief.

What's interesting though is that we started to talk about the "numbers and finances" of his business. Things like how much was he making, how much was he spending, and other such things.

Here is what I found out... The man was actually losing money by running his business. Because many of his clients were infirm (sick) he delivered much of the product. He would drive across town to deliver a $10 bottle.

Even though he believed that he was "saving the world" he was actually going broke doing it.

Is this the end of the story for this guy? No, but I think it goes to show that we can mistakenly run our busiensses as a "ministry" rather than a "business"

I believe we need to have systems on the front end "lead generation," that are profitable in the short term, to keep the back end "our primary business" running smoothly and effectively.

Education Education Education

One of the things that I finally realized was that I needed to get an education about the internet. I was struggling.

I had had some success with traditional network marketing. I had actually built a pretty decent sized network marketing business. I have personally sponsored over 300 people in various organizations that I have worked with.

However, when I tried to bring my business to the internet I struggled badly. At one point I was purchasing leads that were $5.00 a piece.

I was actually going broke trying to build my business. Don’t laugh; there are literally thousands of people out there doing the same thing.

I also was trying to figure everything out by myself. I would do this program, and then do that program. I would try these lead, try those leads. It was a mess.

I would like to save you from that struggle. We have put together a program that is no cost to you. No risk to, No money out of your pocket. (Our advertisers will pay your way into our program)

I would like to save you from the same troubles that I had.

Once you get registered with this program, I will send you an email series that is the best that I have ever put together.

But this is just a tiny fraction of the education that will be available to you.

You have nothing to lose, and only an education to gain.

With no risk, no out of pocket, and an education that could change your life…

Why wouldn’t you?

Check it out. You can always call me directly with any of your questions.
